Its a great all-round tomato. One traditional and easy way is with a single long untreated wood or metal stake that the plant can continue to be tied to as it grows taller.

The first variety to go in is an old favourite of mine - Grosse Lisse Lycopersicon esculentumGrosse Lisse and I pretty much plant it every year.

They will send out supplementary feeder roots that will add to the amount of fruit produced. Grosse Lisse is a popular heirloom tomato producing large smooth red fruits with excellent flavour. The Tiny Tim variety is very compact and grows well in small containers or hanging baskets.
